(NaturalNews) Health authorities do not believe that your child is entitled to be educated unless he or she has first been indoctrinated and intoxicated by the demigods of vaccination. Parents who question the necessity and morality of this dangerous and invasive policy are derisively informed that unvaccinated children are a scourge on society. We are told that everyone -- your children and mine -- must be vaccinated or the "protective cocoon" will fail. Apparently, vaccines are a colossal waste of technology unless market share is complete!

Vaccines are not legally required for your child to enter school. Each state offers legal exemptions to "mandatory" injections. Health authorities rarely inform parents of their rights. If you are opposed to vaccines for your child, read your state vaccine laws and submit an exemption.

Some parents are not sure whether to vaccinate their children; it seems like a difficult decision. It may also be scary to oppose the authorities. However, vaccination may not be the right choice for your family. To help you see through the nonsense and confusion, I have compiled 7 reasons schools should NOT mandate vaccines.

1. Parents should not be obligated to play Russian Roulette with their children.

Vaccines pose serious risks. These hazards are acknowledged by vaccine manufacturers in their product inserts, documented in numerous studies, substantiated by the federal government's Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), and confirmed anecdotally by parents. For example, the MMR vaccine manufacturer concedes that diabetes, thrombocytopenia (a serious blood disorder), arthritis, encephalitis (brain inflammation), Guillain-Barre syndrome (paralysis), and death, have all been reported during clinical trials of its vaccine.

Peer-reviewed studies link the haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) vaccine to epidemics of type 1 diabetes, the hepatitis B vaccine to autoimmune and neurological disorders, and the flu vaccine to paralytic ailments. These are just a few examples. Medical and scientific journals contain hundreds of other peer-reviewed studies linking vaccines to debilitating ailments. (Many of these studies are summarized in the Vaccine Safety Manual.)

In addition, every year approximately 25,000 people file vaccine adverse reaction reports with the CDC. In the past 5 years, more than 21,000 young American females filed adverse reaction reports after receiving the new HPV vaccine. Thousands of these cases were labeled "serious," requiring hospitalization, resulting in life-threatening disabilities or death.

VAERS is a passive reporting system, so the number of people believed to be hurt by vaccines is vastly underreported. According to Dr. David Kessler, former head of the FDA, "only about 1 percent of serious events -- adverse drug reactions -- are reported."(1) This is confirmed by the Thinktwice Global Vaccine Institute, which receives unsolicited personal stories of vaccine damage every day. The families telling these dreadful stories rarely file official reports.

Of course, these stories do not constitute "proof" of vaccine damage -- at least no more than a child's cry after skinning his knee is "proof" of pain. However, patterns of adverse vaccine reactions are easily observed when unrelated families consistently report similar stories of healthy children prior to their shots and hospitalized children after their shots. These patterns tell a larger story.

A medical industry that errs on the side of denial rather than concern is backward and criminally negligent. In an enlightened healthcare community, we would listen to the larger story with sincerity, and opt to protect additional children from harm. Pretending that serious reactions to vaccines are rare does not make it true, incapacitates our children, and degrades our society. Since reputed vaccine risk-to-benefit ratios are bogus, and pharmaceutical shots are considerably more unsafe than officially acknowledged, it is morally unconscionable to mandate vaccines for entry into an educational institution.

2. Unvaccinated children cannot threaten vaccinated children if the shots are effective.

When students contract disease, vaccine proponents are quick to blame the outbreaks on unvaccinated children. Yet, the official data tells a different story: a majority of cases occur in fully vaccinated populations. Dr. William Atkinson, former senior epidemiologist with the CDC, admitted that "measles transmission has been clearly documented among vaccinated persons. In some large outbreaks...over 95% of cases have a history of vaccination."(2)

Similar problems with vaccine efficacy plague other vaccines as well. For example, in a recent outbreak of pertussis, 4 of every 5 people who contracted the disease were vaccinated against it.(3) In a large outbreak of mumps in the United States, 92% of the cases were in people who were vaccinated against mumps.(4) These outbreaks provide evidence that herd immunity -- the idea that when a proportion of people within a targeted population are immune to a disease, transmission rates are reduced -- may not apply to vaccinated populations. Vaccination and immunity are not synonymous.

Authorities claim that vaccines won't work for society unless a very high number of people in the targeted population -- school children -- take them. Apparently, unvaccinated children are a threat to the group. But this does not make sense. By this reasoning, the unvaccinated -- who are being coerced into taking the shots -- are somehow responsible for protecting the vaccinated. How ironic!

If some students are vaccinated, that's their family's choice. If other students are unvaccinated, that's their family's informed decision as well. Vaccinated students take their chances hoping to avoid serious adverse reactions, while unvaccinated students risk contracting the disease. However, if vaccinated students contract the disease, the shot was ineffective, NOT the fault of unvaccinated students. Officials ignore their own ineffective vaccine, choosing instead to smear the unvaccinated. Outrage should be vented in the proper direction -- at those who developed ineffective shots and falsely promoted a defective product.

3. Some vaccines required for school entry are clearly unnecessary.

Our children have become captive instruments of the vaccine industry, accessible by mandate to satisfy other purposes. For example, children rarely develop hepatitis B. In the United States, less than 1% of all reported hepatitis B cases occur in persons less than 15 years of age.

When the hepatitis B vaccine was initially introduced, 87% of pediatricians did NOT believe it was needed by their patients. Doctors knew that children rarely develop this disease. According to the hepatitis B vaccine manufacturer, children are targeted "because a vaccination strategy limited to high-risk individuals has failed."(5) In other words, because high-risk groups -- sexually promiscuous adults and IV drug users -- are difficult to reach or have rejected this vaccine, authorities are targeting children.

Authorities believe that by vaccinating children (a low-risk herd) they will protect unvaccinated adults (a high-risk herd). Since children are unlikely to contract hepatitis B, and studies show that vaccine efficacy declines after a few years, children are being subjected to all of the risks of the hepatitis B vaccine without the expected benefit.

The chickenpox vaccine is another drug that should not have been mandated for all children. It was available since the 1970s but authorities were reluctant to license and promote it because the disease is rarely dangerous and confers lifelong immunity. The vaccine, however, contains a weakened form of the virus; once injected, it remains in the body indefinitely. Authorities were concerned that it could reawaken years after the vaccination and cause serious problems. (Today, devastating epidemics of shingles have been linked to overuse of the chickenpox vaccine.)

In addition, the chickenpox vaccine was originally developed for children with leukemia or compromised immune systems, a small population at greater risk for complications from the disease. But vaccine manufacturers quickly sought a wider market for their potentially lucrative product. A study conducted by the CDC in 1985 determined that the vaccine was not necessary. However, in 1995 it was promoted as "cost-effective" -- rather than essential -- because moms and dads would not have to miss work and stay home (an average of 1 day) to care for their sick children. It was licensed shortly thereafter.

Before the chickenpox vaccine was licensed, doctors would encourage parents to expose their children to the disease while they were young. Doctors recommended this course of action because they knew that chickenpox is relatively harmless when contracted prior to the teenage years (but more dangerous in adolescents and adults). However, after the vaccine was licensed, the CDC began warning parents about the dangers of chickenpox. Doctors stopped encouraging parents to expose their children to this disease. Instead, they were told to have their children vaccinated against chickenpox.

These examples confirm that some vaccines required for school entry are NOT essential. School officials have become henchmen for the vaccine industry. Low-risk children are being force-vaccinated to protect high-risk adults or to increase the vaccine manufacturer's profits. Blackmailing families by threatening to withhold a child's education for refusing needless vaccines is a moral outrage.

4. Conflicts of interest permeate the vaccine industry.

Vaccine recommendations and other important healthcare decisions that affect our nation's children are frequently based on ulterior motives. Safety and protection are NOT always top priorities. Instead, authorities may be influenced by monetary considerations or the urge to manipulate undesirable study results. For example, in June of 2000, two separate yet highly significant events rocked the vaccine industry:

Event #1: Congress held a hearing to determine if "the entire process [of licensing and recommending vaccines] has been polluted and the public trust has been violated." Two years earlier, vaccine authorities had evidence that a new vaccine under consideration (for diarrhea!) was dangerous, yet that didn't stop them from licensing and recommending it for every child in the USA. Shortly thereafter, this vaccine was linked to numerous cases of a life-threatening intestinal blockage and baby deaths.

After this vaccine was withdrawn from the market, Congress discovered that 60% of the FDA advisory committee members who voted to license this defective vaccine, and 50% of the CDC advisory committee members who voted to recommend it for every child in the country, had financial ties to the drug company that produced the vaccine or to two other companies developing their own potentially lucrative competing vaccines. For example, an FDA committee member who voted to license the defective vaccine had received more than $250,000 per year in research funds from the drug company that made the vaccine.

A CDC committee member who voted to recommend the defective vaccine for every child was paid by the industry to travel around the country teaching doctors that vaccines are safe. In addition, he held a potentially lucrative patent on a similar vaccine under development! Despite this important Congressional expose', no one at the FDA, CDC, or U.S. Department of Health and Human Services admitted a problem, and claimed that it's perfectly acceptable for committee members with obvious conflicts of interest to make healthcare recommendations for every child in this country -- even when they stand to benefit financially from their own decisions!

Event #2: Just one week prior to the Congressional investigation into conflicts of interest within the vaccine industry, a top-secret meeting of high-level officials from the CDC, FDA, World Health Organization (WHO), and representatives from every major vaccine manufacturer, was held at the secluded Simpsonwood conference center in Norcross, Georgia. They had gathered to discuss an alarming new study that confirmed a link between thimerosal (mercury) in childhood vaccines and neurological damage, including recent dramatic increases in autistic spectrum disorders. According to the lead researcher, "We have found statistically significant relationships between the exposures and outcomes."(5)

Since 1991, when the CDC and FDA started requiring babies to receive multiple doses of thimerosal-laced hepatitis B, Hib, and the already mandated diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis shots (via DPT and DTaP), cases of autism skyrocketed. Dr. Robert Chen, head of vaccine safety for the CDC, congratulated the group for their apparent success thus far at being able to keep the incriminating data out of "less responsible hands." Dr. John Clements, WHO vaccine advisor, was more blunt, declaring that perhaps the CDC study "should not have been done at all."(6)

Instead of warning the public and recalling the dangerous vaccines, this small group of federal health officials and vaccine industry executives spent the weekend calculating how to cover up the truth -- and followed through on their plot over the next few years.

First, the CDC's vast database on childhood vaccines was removed from public access so that unbiased researchers could not confirm the study results. Next, the incriminating data from the original study was reworked, and the new version was published in a peer-reviewed journal. However, this time "no consistent significant associations were found between thimerosal-containing vaccines and neurodevelopmental outcomes."

Finally, to complete the deception, the CDC would need additional "proof" that thimerosal-laced vaccines are safe. According to Dr. Gordon Douglas, the director of strategic planning at the National Institutes of Health (and former president of vaccinations for Merck, a major vaccine manufacturer), four new studies were currently taking place "to rule out the proposed link between autism and thimerosal."

These two events -- the Congressional hearing on conflicts of interest within the vaccine licensing and recommendation process, and the secret Simpsonwood conference -- confirm that U.S. health authorities have lost their ethical bearings and have NOT made our children's safety a top priority. Requiring vaccines for school entry when they may have been added to the childhood immunization schedule simply to line the pockets of powerful authorities is dangerous and corrupt. Withholding a child's education for refusing vaccines when crucial studies purporting to prove their safety are bogus, is both reprehensible and indefensible. Thus, every family must remain free to accept or reject vaccines.

5. Recovery from natural disease provides advantages over artificial immunity.

Measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox usually confer permanent immunity; the child will rarely contract these ailments again. In contrast, vaccines provide temporary immunity; protection is incomplete, requiring booster doses. Vaccinated children are still susceptible to the disease. Studies also indicate that childhood diseases can have a favorable effect on the child's immune system. When children overcome illnesses on their own, their immune systems are stimulated: they build resistance to other diseases in later life. For example, several studies show that women are less likely to develop ovarian cancer if they have had mumps in childhood.

6. Few people utilize exemptions.

In 1991, the CDC concluded that outbreaks of disease can be avoided if 70% to 80% of children are vaccinated. A 1992 study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association confirmed that vaccination rates of "80% or less" should be sufficient to protect against disease outbreaks. Most parents obediently follow their doctor's orders and vaccinate their children. In addition, schools rarely publicize legal exemptions to "mandatory" vaccines. Thus, only about 2% of families file waivers to recommended shots. This number could substantially increase without threatening the notion of herd immunity.

7. Developed nations that require the most vaccines have the worst infant death rates.

In the United States, healthcare authorities, pediatricians, and school officials use coercive tactics to increase vaccination rates. Parents are intimidated and their children threatened with removal from school if vaccines are not "up to date." Other countries recommend fewer vaccines and do not require them for school entry; medical intervention is not compulsory, free will is honored, yet epidemics do not occur. Outbreaks of common ailments are manageable without requiring vaccines for school entry.

A new study published in Human and Experimental Toxicology -- I co-authored this paper -- found that developed nations with higher (worse) infant mortality rates tend to give their infants more vaccine doses. For example, the United States requires infants to receive 26 vaccines (the most in the world) yet more than 6 U.S. infants die per every 1000 live births. In contrast, Sweden and Japan administer 12 vaccines to infants, the least amount, and report less than 3 deaths per 1000 live births.

Our study found "a high statistically significant correlation between increasing number of vaccine doses and increasing infant mortality rates." This raises important questions: Would fewer vaccines administered to infants reduce the number of infant deaths? Would fewer vaccines given to school children actually improve their health? Mandatory vaccination for school entry must end.

(NaturalNews) Just when you think some progress is being made for allowing exemptions from required vaccination schedules, along comes a threatening policy statement from a group that does most of those vaccinations. The Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS) has issued a position statement opposing secular exemptions from vaccinations.

Already, many pediatricians are refusing healthcare to children of parents, who oppose heavy vaccination schedules.

Pediatricians Are Vaccine Crazy

The vaccination schedule begins at birth with the Hep B shot, which is followed by two more Hep B shots before two years of age. Hepatitis B is transmitted sexually or with hypodermic needles. Even if the mother is not at risk, the Hep B shots are pushed on newborns.

Two other vaccinations come as three different doses in one package. And those are given more than once before age six. They are the MMR (mumps, measles, and rubella) and the DTP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis) vaccinations.

Including the two inoculations that inject three vaccines, there are a total of fifteen different vaccines inoculated into a child well over 30 times by the age of six. Those shots aren't cheap, and they are hazardous. The USA requires more infant vaccinations than any other nation, yet it ranks 34th in infant mortality.

So this vaccination nation has more infant deaths than 33 other nations. But the pediatricians want to make sure more are given to protect "herd immunity" and prevent outbreaks. They believe 90% of the population should be vaccinated with the full schedule of vaccines. Hold on a second. Those who are vaccinated shouldn't be concerned about disease carriers if they are "immunized", right? The outbreak threat is obviously illogical.

Real Science

It has been documented that the most dangerous disease carriers are those who have been recently vaccinated. The attenuated live viruses used in the vaccine "shed" off the vaccinated child for a few weeks after the shot.

There have been scientific studies that prove SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) is linked to the Hep B and DTP vaccinations. There are also many cases of severe infant vaccine adverse effects reported, but many more are not reported because too many parents do not realize vaccines can have adverse reactions. Of course, the medical people usually deny any connection even if a baby drops dead immediately after a vaccination.

There are two studies linking SIDS to early vaccinations. Dr. Viera Scheibner, the author of one of the studies, concluded that "vaccination is the single most prevalent and most preventable cause of infant deaths." Dr. William Torch, of the University of Nevada School of Medicine at Reno, discovered that almost 80% of SIDS deaths occurred shortly after the DPT vaccination. There are other similar studies with similar results. (3)

Warning

Pediatricians consider parents, who are concerned about vaccine safety, virtually criminal for not permitting them to vaccinate their children. Their position paper claims vaccines are the medical miracle of modern medicine, but hysterical celebrities and junk science has led many astray from honoring this miracle. Hypocritically, they say this without scientific proof of their own.

If you protest or refuse vaccinations for your child, there is a looming possibility that legal actions could be taken against you. Children could be taken away and foster homed, and parents can be arrested unless they yield to pediatricians' warped demands. This is where medical fascism is headed as the medical mafia continues their lobbying for more control.

Some parents are avoiding pediatricians and using regular MDs they trust or holistic practitioners for their children to avoid possible confrontations. These are difficult times for raising children safely. So do your research and connect with supportive groups (5), who are really invested in children's safety instead of vaccine profits.

Contact Representative Matt Gaetz and tell him that this language is overly broad and invites arbitrary and capricious conduct by state officials. This language is also unconstitutional. Other states have passed less coercive versions of this bioterrorism law.

The British Medical Journal (BMJ) now accuses British gastroenterologist Dr. Andrew Wakefield of falsifying data in his landmark 1998 Lancet article wherein he hypothesized a possible vaccine-autism connection. Not just heresy, mind you, but purposely undermining the public trust!

BMJ Editor Fiona Godlee, in an editorial reference to the accusation against Dr. Wakefield, laments that without trust, research cannot function and evidence-based medicine becomes folly. KNOW Vaccines (Vaccine Awareness of Florida) agrees that ethics in science matters. Scientific study rigorously scrutinized (with all data published) is trustworthy. Scientific research influenced by political agendas, conflicts of interest or financial ties to vaccine manufacturers is folly and must be exposed.

The persecution of Andrew Wakefield is about restoring the public trust in vaccinations. Make no mistake: the vaccine establishment needs the public trust in order to continue its policy of mandatory vaccination.

Despite the latest attacks on Dr. Wakefield’s research and integrity, the question remains as to why 1 in 110 American children are diagnosed with autism. And why the growing epidemic of auto-immune diseases in vaccinated children? Thus, research into the autism-vaccine connection must continue, and it must be conducted by independent medical researchers not linked to pharmaceutical companies or government agencies.

Meanwhile, the censure and denunciation aimed at those who question vaccine safety distracts us from the fundamental issue in the vaccine debate, which is the right to informed consent. The public deserves truthful data about vaccines and the right to make their own healthcare decisions. A public health policy that denies informed consent rights, dictates medical procedures, discriminates against religious freedom and that negates the doctor/patient relationship violates the legal rights of all people.

In “Flu shots for area's children start soon” (11/5/2009), the turnout for a recent Hillsborough County clinic was described as falling short of expectations, and a Hillsborough County official is quoted as saying, “We don't really know why more people aren't interested."[1]

Here are just a few of many potential reasons as to why parental demand for H1N1 vaccination is falling short of official expectations:

1. Secretary Sebelius (HHS) in July invoked the 2006 PREPA Act, granting legal immunity to vaccine manufacturers and federal officials, meaning they will not be held liable for harm caused by their swine flu vaccines, unless willful misconduct can be proven.[2] Many parents do not want their children to receive uninsured vaccines.

2. Similar legal immunity was issued in 1976, for a similar swine flu scare which ended in disaster. The swine flu virus itself was ultimately blamed for only one death. However, the 1976 swine flu vaccine was blamed for at least 25 deaths, and thousands of injuries, from Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), a paralyzing neuromuscular disorder. US taxpayers eventually paid hundreds of millions of dollars to the vaccine’s victims.[3] GBS remains a hazard associated with vaccinations.[4]

3. The most readily-available injectable H1N1 vaccines are delivered in multi-dose vials. According to the FDA, each of these vaccines contain up to 25mcg (micrograms) of Thimerosal, a mercury derivative.[5] Mercury is a neurotoxin.[6]

The fact that these injectable vaccines contain mercury may explain why more parents are not interested.

NAPLES — Seventy-seven students at the Community School of Naples were mistakenly given the seasonal flu vaccine earlier this week when parents had signed consent forms for their children to receive the H1N1 vaccine, the Collier County Health Department said Tuesday.

The mistake was discovered when staff members at the health department were inputting data into computers at the school clinic Monday and the computers would not accept the lot numbers as correct for H1N1 vaccine, said Dr. Joan Colfer, executive director of the health department.

The vaccine clinic was halted and an additional supervisor was sent to the school to oversee the continuation of the H1N1 clinic for the rest of the school, she said.

The mistake was discovered 10 or 15 minutes after they started administering the shots, said Deb Millsap, spokeswoman for the health department.

After stopping the clinic and checking the vaccine stock, the clinic resumed and 337 students were given the H1N1 vaccine, Millsap said.

The error occurred when nurses were packing vaccine and accidently packed the seasonal vaccine for the school when it was supposed to go to one of the community sites where both the seasonal and H1N1 vaccine are being given to risk groups.

In addition, the six nurses at Community School had not confirmed they had the H1N1 vials in hand before giving the shots to the 77 youngsters, Colfer said.

WHEELING - It took the strength of two sheriff's deputies to keep a middle schooler still enough to receive a shot of the swine flu, or H1N1, vaccine at a recent clinic.

During a regular Wheeling-Ohio County Health Board meeting Tuesday, health department Administrator Howard Gamble told board members about the student's attempt to flee Wheeling Middle School during a vaccination clinic held there last Friday.

He noted the boy's mother could not bear to watch the scene and left the gymnasium. Out of apparent fear of receiving the injection, the student ran out of the building. The school's resource officer, Ohio County Sheriff's Deputy John Haglock, coaxed the boy back inside. Once at the shot station, however, Haglock apparently needed some help keeping the boy still, and another deputy assisted.

"He tried to run. I looked over and saw two sheriff's deputies holding a kid down," Gamble said. "Mom took off, she couldn't take it. You had one nurse with the needle, two deputies holding him, one nurse is grabbing hands - because that's what they want to do, to go after the needle. And that's the last thing you want."

Gamble said as soon as the nurse gave the boy his injection and told him he was done, he hopped up like nothing had happened.

"For the most part they go very easy. As far as the shots, every once in awhile you have to hold down one or two - but that's why mom is there or dad is there," Gamble said.

He added after the meeting that Friday's incident was the only time Ohio County deputies have held a student during a shot.

"They're mostly there for parking and directions. They also know the kids. ... They were our first line of contact when setting up the clinics," Gamble said.

Neither Sheriff Pat Butler nor Haglock could be reached for comment. A sheriff's department official said Haglock is on vacation for the next two weeks.

During a clinic Tuesday at Bridge Street Middle School, similar scenes took place - though not quite as dramatic and not involving officers of the law. A couple sets of parents could be seen keeping their children from wiggling away while a nurse quickly administered the vaccine.

Ten-year-old Austin Price, the son of Jennifer and Josh Price, decided to take the shot standing up and with no assistance from his mom or dad. He even smiled for a photograph.

And on a scale of 1-10, how painful was the shot?

A "4," he answered.

By 7:30 p.m., 391 students from Bridge Street and Elm Grove and Middle Creek elementary schools had been vaccinated. Gamble expected that by the clinic's end at 8 p.m., more than 400 would have received the inoculation.

The final two student clinics in Ohio County are:

• For students of Warwood Middle School, Corpus Christi, Warwood and West Liberty Elementary schools from 3:30-8 p.m. Thursday at Warwood Middle School Gym.

• For students of Wheeling Park High School from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at WPHS Activities Center.

Tuesday's health board meeting was held in the county commission board room - located on the second floor of the City-County Building - due to the health department's board room being used for storage.

Quebec health officials say they are close to setting up a system to bus schoolchildren to swine flu vaccination centres.

Putting together a vaccination plan involving more than one million school children is not an easy task, said Quebec's chief public health officer, Dr. Alain Poirier.

"A few details have to be fixed, but it's going in the right direction," he said at a news conference in Quebec City Wednesday.

The chief of health protection at Montreal's public health department, Dr. Terry-Nan Tannenbaum, said there is still a lot to figure out.

"There's the consent to be vaccinated; there's the consent to be transported; … there's making sure we have all the information, for instance, on allergies or other problems," said Tannenbaum.

One Montreal parent said the idea to bus students to clinics isn’t such a good one.

"Many children will be afraid," said Elise Desjardins, the mother of two school-age children.

She said children might be more at ease if they got the flu shot at their own school.

At the national assembly, Parti Québecois health critic Bernard Drainville said the plan sounds like a field trip destined for failure.

"It is obvious the solution is to do vaccinations in schools. Why aren't you doing it?" Drainville asked the Liberals during question period.

"[This is the way] to vaccinate the most students possible ... the most efficient way," replied Liberal Health Minister Yves Bolduc.

He went on to say that if the government slows down the vaccination process for schoolchildren, it will delay the rollout of vaccination for the rest of the population.

A 14-year-old Virginia boy is weak and struggling to walk after coming down with a reported case of Guillain-Barre syndrome within hours after receiving the H1N1 vaccine for swine flu.

Jordan McFarland, a high school athlete from Alexandria, Va., left Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children Tuesday night in a wheelchair nearly a week after developing severe headaches, muscle spasms and weakness in his legs following a swine flu shot. He will likely need the assistance of a walker for four to six weeks, plus extensive physical therapy.

“The doctor said I’ll recover fully, but it’s going to take some time,” the teenager said.

Jordan is among the first people in the nation to report developing the potentially life-threatening muscle disorder after receiving the H1N1 vaccine this fall. His alarming reaction was submitted via msnbc.com's reader reporting tool, First Person, by his stepmother, Arlene Connin.

Increased cases of GBS were found in patients who received a 1976 swine flu vaccine, but government health officials say they've seen no rise in the condition associated with the current outbreak.

So far, the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have received five reports of GBS in people who received the H1N1 vaccine since Oct. 6, not including Jordan’s case, said Dr. Claudia J. Vellozzi, deputy director for immunization safety.

Out of about 40 million doses of H1N1 vaccine available to date, that’s a far lower rate of GBS than the 1 case that develops in every 1 million people who receive the regular flu vaccine.

"It's much less than we'd expect," she said, adding that many cases go unreported.

In 1976, about 1 additional case of GBS developed in every 100,000 people who were vaccinated against the swine flu, according to the CDC.

Jordan's parents said doctors diagnosed the teen with GBS, a rare muscle disorder that develops when a person’s own immune system attacks the nerves, causing muscle weakness, difficulty walking and sometimes paralysis and death.

Hospital officials didn't dispute that the boy had GBS, but refused to comment on the boy's condition or treatment, even after his family granted permission.

“They don’t want to create a fear or panic in the community,” said Jordan's stepmother, Connin.

Connin and Jordan’s father, Calvin McFarland, both 38, believe the shot sparked the illness that came on 18 hours after the boy’s vaccination.

(NaturalNews) A teenage Virginia athlete is in a wheel chair now after suffering Guillain-Barre Syndrome within hours after receiving an H1N1 swine flu vaccine shot. 14-year-old Jordan McFarland developed severe headaches, muscle spasms and weakness in his legs after being injected. He will need "extensive physical therapy" to recovery, reports MSNBC. Plus, he'll need the help of a walker for four to six weeks.

Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) is the name given to anyone who exhibits a particular set of neurological symptoms including muscle weakness and muscle spasms. GBS is now increasingly occurring following H1N1 vaccine injections. It was diagnosed in thousands of patients following the 1976 swine flu vaccine scare, and it appears to be recurring here in 2009 as the swine flu vaccine makes it into more widespread distribution.

Health authorities, however, remain adamant that H1N1 vaccines are never the cause of GBS, and that such diagnoses are "pure coincidence." This blatantly unscientific P.R. tactic is designed to dismiss any and all concerns over the neurological side effects of H1N1 vaccines by simply denying they exist. To date, the CDC has received reports of five additional people being diagnosed with GBS following swine flu vaccinations, but it dismisses them all as coincidence. "It's much less than we'd expect," says CDC official Dr. Claudia J. Vellozzi. (Which is sort of interesting all by itself, because it reveals that the CDC expects a lot more people to get GBS following vaccine injections...)

At the same time, part of the reason the CDC isn't receiving many reports on neurological disorders caused by H1N1 vaccines is because they participated in a massive media brainwashing event that prepped the population to dismiss all side effects by pre-announcing the bizarre idea that "side effects experienced after vaccine injections are not related to vaccines."

This was an organized, nationwide media brainwashing campaign engineered by the CDC, FDA and drug companies. It sought to pre-program health consumers to automatically dismiss serious side effects that appeared in the hours after receiving swine flu vaccine injections.

The campaign worked. In fact, even the GBS of this young man, Jordan McFarland, wasn't submitted to the CDC. It only came to light when his step-mother submitted details to MSNBC.com's reader reporting tool. In other words, this was citizen journalism at work, where a parent submitted information directly to the media.

For this to occur is exceedingly rare. Most parents would simply wait for their doctor to submit such information to health authorities, not knowing that submitting reports of vaccine-related side effects remains voluntary in modern medicine.

No requirement to report vaccine side effects

You read that right: There is no requirement that doctors send reports of vaccine side effects to any health authority at all. And that raises the question: So how do they really know how many people are suffering neurological side effects from the H1N1 vaccines?

The answer? They don't. Nobody knows.

It is in Dr. Oz's own financial interest, in other words, to hype up vaccines and get more people taking them so that his own financial investments rise in value.

That evidence includes an SEC document detailing how Dr. Oz. bought options on stocks for SIGA Technologies in 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2009. According to SEC documents, Dr. Mehmet Oz. currently holds 150,000 option shares on SIGA Technologies, purchased for as little as $1.35 back in 2005.

If all the 150,000 options purchased by Dr. Oz. were exercised today, they would be worth roughly $180,000 in profits (they were bought at different prices, not all at $1.35). These options won't expire until the years 2015 - 2019, and the higher the stock price of SIGA gets before then, the more profit can be realized when these options are cashed out. If the stock price of SIGA Technologies could be pumped up even more -- say, from someone hyping up vaccines in front of a national audience -- these options could mathematically be worth millions of dollars. It focuses on future vaccine technologies that could be applied to many different vaccines down the road.

Dr. Oz. isn't merely a holder of SIGA stock options, by the way: He's on the Board of Directors! As SIGA's own website explains, Dr. Oz has served on the board since 2001 and continues his role there today. This brings up the obvious question:

Is it right for someone talking about whether vaccines are safe on television to also be carrying stock options and serving on the board of directors of a vaccine company at the same time?

Just to make things a little more interesting, SIGA Technologies recently received a $3 million grant in taxpayer dollars from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The purpose of the grant money? To fund the study of a chemical adjunct named ST-246 to be used in future vaccines. So taxpayer money is now being used to fund a vaccine technology company whose stock price increases will financially benefit the very celebrity doctor who is hyping up vaccines to a national audience.

TORONTO - A Brampton, Ont., man is questioning why the nurse who gave his young daughter and almost a dozen other children double the recommended dose of the H1N1 flu vaccine is still giving out the swine flu shot.

It's just the latest problem to surface in Ontario's bumpy rollout of the swine flu vaccine.

That rollout has included vaccine shortages, days-long lineups for vaccinations at public clinics and board members at about a dozen Toronto hospitals and several players and staff from the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and the NBA's Toronto Raptors being allowed to jump the queue in getting their flu shot ahead of the general public.

Ted Hedrich said in an interview from his home in Brampton on Sunday that he was told that his three-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Selena, was one of 11 children who were given the higher dose by a nurse working at the Indell Lane clinic last Monday afternoon.

But he wasn't called by a Peel Public Health supervisor until Thursday when he was told of the error, he said.

Health officials have recommended young children only get half the adult dose initially - which would be 0.25 ml for children - and then get the other half several weeks later. But Hedrich said his daughter was given 0.5 ml.

Hedrich said he was told the nurse now has been retrained on the proper procedure.

"I was absolutely shocked," he said, that the nurse was still giving flu shots.

The tabletop exercise is the latest in a series of initiatives launched by INTERPOL since the creation of its Bioterrorism Prevention programme. INTERPOL has worked ceaselessly since 2005 to heighten its member countries’ awareness of the dangers of bioterrorism and to enhance their preparedness for a bioterrorist attack. The Bioterrorism Prevention Programme has co-ordinated a series of events, starting with the Global Conference on Preventing Bioterrorism in March 2005; regional workshops in Africa, South America, Europe and Asia; train-the-trainer sessions all over the world; and practical tabletop exercises such as the one outlined above.

An Ottawa city councillor wants to call in the Armed Forces to help conduct swine flu vaccinations.

Coun. Bob Monette said Thursday he has written to federal Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq asking if doctors, nurses and medics from the Canadian Forces could be deployed in cities across Canada to help with the H1N1 vaccinations.

Monette said the idea came to him after speaking with a constituent who's a member of the Forces.

"Why not think of all the possibilities?" Monette said.

"This was one more possibility that I found was worthwhile looking into, and let's see if anything comes from it. If we can get one or two doctors, a nurse, to help out, then it's worthwhile," he said.

Ottawa-Orleans MP Royal Galipeau has endorsed Monette's idea. He said he's also written to the health minister and to the minister of defence.

WARSAW, Poland — Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk says his government won't buy vaccines for swine flu that have not been properly tested or from producers who won't take responsibility for possible side effects.

Tusk told reporters Friday that vaccine producers were pressuring governments to buy, but were also demanding that all responsibility and compensation for possible side effects should fall upon the governments purchasing the medicine.

He stressed that the few dozen swine cases in Poland have been mild and no deaths have been reported.

(CBS) For years some parents and scientists have raised concerns about vaccine safety, including a possible link to autism and ADD. Many independent experts have sided with government officials and other scientists who say there's no possible connection. But how "independent" are they? CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson shares here's what she found.

They're some of the most trusted voices in the defense of vaccine safety: the American Academy of Pediatrics, Every Child By Two, and pediatrician Dr. Paul Offit.

But CBS News has found these three have something more in common - strong financial ties to the industry whose products they promote and defend.

The vaccine industry gives millions to the Academy of Pediatrics for conferences, grants, medical education classes and even helped build their headquarters. The totals are kept secret, but public documents reveal bits and pieces.

A $342,000 payment from Wyeth, maker of the pneumococcal vaccine - which makes $2 billion a year in sales.

A $433,000 contribution from Merck, the same year the academy endorsed Merck's HPV vaccine - which made $1.5 billion a year in sales.

Another top donor: Sanofi Aventis, maker of 17 vaccines and a new five-in-one combo shot just added to the childhood vaccine schedule last month.

Every Child By Two, a group that promotes early immunization for all children, admits the group takes money from the vaccine industry, too - but wouldn't tell us how much.

A spokesman told CBS News: "There are simply no conflicts to be unearthed." But guess who's listed as the group's treasurers? Officials from Wyeth and a paid advisor to big pharmaceutical clients.

Then there's Paul Offit, perhaps the most widely-quoted defender of vaccine safety.

He's gone so far as to say babies can tolerate "10,000 vaccines at once."

If you want to draw attention to a problem, try hiding it. That's the strategy of several military bases when it comes to the H1N1 vaccine.

Shortly after the Pentagon announced that all Armed Services personnel would soon be facing a mandatory H1N1 vaccination program, I started receiving email from soldiers, airmen, marines and sailors because of a previous story I had written on the anthrax vaccine. Mandatory vaccine programs are a sensitive subject in the military, so it's not a huge surprise that swift and visceral reactions to the program gained speed.

With a vaccine that was so new and little known about it, like many

Americans, troops were heading to the web to find answers to their

very legitimate questions -- not only for themselves, but for their

families who have the option of receiving the vaccine on base. What

they found instead is that several websites and blogs with key

information asking critical questions had been blocked from their

viewing.

Among those that were repeatedly mentioned as blocked sites are the

National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC), the site for Gary

Matsumoto's book Vaccine-A, and vaccine expert Dr. Meryl Nass. NVIC is

a national, non-profit founded in 1980s that, through public

education, advocates "vaccine safety and informed consent protections

in the mass vaccination system." Matsumoto's site contains a forum in

which thousands upon thousands of service members have posted

testimonies regarding their experiences with the anthrax vaccine. And

Nass is one of the world's foremost experts on vaccines who has

testified in front of Congressional committees -- and, I might add,

never has had a malpractice suit brought against her.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration

(FDA), and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) sites,

however, are all available for military personnel. The official word

from governmental agencies is welcome but critics, regardless of

whether they were considered experts, are not.

Wired Magazine’s recent cover story on autism, written by Amy Wallace, is titled “An Epidemic of Fear: How Panicked Parents Skipping Shots Endangers Us All.” (HERE) For any reader hoping for an unbiased, objective discourse on the current state of autism research, the title alone tells you that won’t be happening.

Ms. Wallace’s piece is, in fact, a glowing portrayal of one man, Paul Offit, and his relentless pursuit of the idea that vaccines simply cannot have anything to do with the autism epidemic, since the autism epidemic doesn’t even exist, and vaccines have been proven not to cause autism, and vaccines are much more good than bad, so let’s get on with it already.

As someone who has studied Mr. Offit’s talking points closely for the past 5 years, I was struck by how closely Amy Wallace seemed to echo the points that Offit frequently makes in both the press and medical journals, not only on the specific scientific questions that have and haven’t been answered surrounding many aspects of autism, but even on the more psychoanalytical questions surrounding WHY parents do the things they do (like avoid vaccines). In fact, I can’t find a single original thought or idea in the article from Ms. Wallace that I haven’t previously heard Paul Offit say, nor a single case where her ideas appear to deviate or disagree with any of the positions he takes or has taken in the past: Amy Wallace and Mr. Offit appear to be in perfect harmony.

Ms. Wallace also violates, quite clearly, her own ruminations (which I have heard Offit discuss before) about the reticence required in discourse and debate by true “scientists” that us non-scientists don’t have to abide by: “But researchers, alas, can’t respond with the same forceful certainty that the doubters are able to deploy — not if they’re going to follow the rules of science.” As you will see in a moment, Ms. Wallace’s writing is in fact filled with this “forceful certainty”, starting with the cover of Wired Magazine that states, quite forcefully and most certainly, “Vaccines Don’t Cause Autism.”

The majority of people feel that the CDC can no longer be trusted. Many doctors and health care professionals are beginning to challenge the assumptions of our current vaccine programs, and question the sanity and safety of rushing to mass-vaccinate against such a mild virus as H1N1 with untested and unproven vaccines.

Furthermore, one physician, Dr. Blaylock, board certified neurosurgeon, author, and lecturer, who has written over 30 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals on a number of subjects, says that the CDC is leading America into an unfounded mass vaccination emergency. How can Dr. Blaylock make such a statement?

Dr. Blaylock reports that he uses only data that comes directly from CDC, National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases, National Institute Health, New England Journal of Medicine, etc., all highly regarded areas and institutions of research and data. Our very own government's research holds the evidence for his expert analysis.

He further states that The National Institute of Health had announced that the H1N1 vaccine is completely ineffective in 75% of babies from age 6 months to 3 years of age AND children age 3-9 years old, 64% were completely ineffective; no one read the report by the NIH! Instead, the CDC and physicians are advising and even mandating that parents get their babies and small children the H1N1 vaccine.

In addition: Dr. Blaylock points out that before Australia and New Zealand entered their fall and winter the CDC experts were watching their outcome, expecting millions of infected and hundreds of thousands admitted in the intensive care units/hospitals. When the flu season finally did arrive in Australia/NewZealand…none of these things happened; it was so mild and extremely low incidents of death was lower than last years seasonal flu for all age groups. The CDC has NOT reported this to the public as well as numerous other facts.

Dr. Blaylock passionately states, "Everybody involved in this fearmongering which is unfounded and cannot be proved, should be fired...just go through the CDC and start firing people who are responsible for putting out this fearmongering, for which they have no scientific backing whatsoever. Anybody in the administration in these bureaucratic departments that has been involved in the fearmongering...they need to be removed from office, we need people who are reasonable and who base things on reasonable conclusions that can inform the public and be more trusting."

Lawsuit highlights employer limits in fighting flu

The Service Employees International Union Local 1107 is suing the operators of Sunrise Hospital and Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center, claiming the hospitals' H1N1 vaccination policies are a violation of its collective bargaining agreement. But the lawsuit may only be the start of litigation over how far employers can go in the name of disease prevention.

The federal complaint filed Oct. 29 named Sunrise and Southern Hills' parent Healthcare Corporation of America, and seeks an injunction until an arbitration hearing can be held. At issue is the new policy of the HCA hospitals to require employees to get the seasonal flu shot.

The H1N1 vaccine was also initially mandated, but that requirement was later dropped due to the shortage of the vaccine, Local 1107 union spokeswoman Amber Lopez-Lasater said. The union is also making a pre-emptive strike against any forced H1N1 vaccination policy in its lawsuit.

"We think it should be an individual decision made by the trained health care providers," she said.

HCA's refusal to meet and negotiate with union representatives sparked the lawsuit, added Lopez-Lasater. She claims such a meeting is required under the collective bargaining agreement.

The boogeyman will get you!" parents sometimes tell misbehaving children. With about 40% of parents saying "no!" to vaccinating their kids for swine flu, apparently health officials think turnabout is fair play. And the media seem happy to help.

Of the many things that might harm your baby, swine flu is thankfully way down on the list.

You see it in such headlines as "CDC Shocker: Swine Flu Killing Young People at Record Rate!" And in lines of panicked parents queued outside vaccine clinics like fans trying to score tickets to a Paul McCartney concert. And in schools closing willy-nilly, which could cost the nation tens of billions, according to a recent Brookings Institute study.

Which is so sad, because this boogeyman is not much more substantial than the legendary one. And adding the proverbial insult to injury, parents are told they must get their children vaccines that--because of the shortage and despite Obama administration promises--they can't get.

As told, the tale does sound scary. Almost a quarter of deaths from swine flu since Sept. 1 have occurred "in young people under the age of 25," Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) official Anne Schuchat declared at a press conference. Among cases of seasonal flu, those over 65 account for about 90% of deaths.

What Schuchat didn't say is that, as tragic as any child's death always is, in this case they merely represent a disproportionately larger slice of a very small pie. Very few people are dying of swine flu in any age category. Put another way, it's not that younger people are being slammed but that older ones are catching a break.

Hence among 65,000 college students afflicted with CDC-defined "flu-like illness" seriously enough to seek medical help, according to an American College Health Association running survey, there have been only 123 hospitalizations and zero deaths. That in turn reflects swine flu as a whole, which in the seven months since the outbreak began has apparently killed fewer Americans than normally die every two weeks from "ordinary" flu during the season.

The Dutch health institute RIVM has stopped the distribution of a batch of Pfizer’s Prevnar childhood vaccine following the death of three babies shortly after being vaccinated.

The vaccine has been labeled ‘do not use’ and and new supplies have been made available to doctors.

The exact cause of the death of the infants is not yet known, the RIVM said. The babies died between one and 11 days after the vaccination.

LAKE IN THE HILLS – Citizens infected with a fictitious pneumonic plague will line up outside Lincoln Prairie Elementary School on Saturday to help test the site as a medication dispensary in case of an emergency.

The Lake in the Hills Police Department is carrying out the test as part of a grant from the McHenry County Department of Health for its emergency health plan. In case of a biological terrorist attack or widespread disease outbreak, the site would be able get medicine to the community, Lake in the Hills Chief of Patrol Services David Brey said.

“This is just a functional test of the site,” he said.

The event will use volunteers pretending to have been stricken by the plague to help test the flow of the site, from initial triage through receiving proof of being medicated.

“We picked the plague on purpose so it would have nothing to do with the swine flu,” Brey said.

The test will start at 9 a.m. Saturday at Lincoln Prairie, 500 Harvest Gate, across from Lake in the Hills Village Hall.

Since our public health officials do not seem concerned about protecting the pregnant women and children in this country, I am forced to ask that everyone who gets this message forward it to all your family and friends.

There are two kinds of influenza vaccines (both regular flu and swine flu) available this year - one contains Thimerosal (a mercury based preservative) and the other does not. As a general rule, the vaccines that come in single dose packages do not contain mercury, while the multi-dose vials do. However, some clinics pre-fill syringes from multi-dose vials. Thus, you need to verify that the syringe was filled by the vaccine’s manufacturer and not by anyone else, if you are offered a flu-shot dose in a syringe.

The amount of mercury in the Thimerosal preserved vaccines is about 25 micrograms. The EPA safe dose (confirmed by the National Academy of Science in 2001) for exposure to methyl mercury that should not be exceeded is .1 microgram per kilogram of body weight per day. This standard is set for "methyl" mercury. Neither FDA nor EPA has set a "safe" level for "ethyl" mercury, the active ingredient in Thimerosal, but the FDA considers them equivalent in its risk evaluation. Although they are similar organic molecules, studies show that an equivalent dose of "ethyl" mercury can actually deposit more mercury in the brain. So, if a child receives a shot with 25 micrograms of mercury, the child would have to weigh 550 pounds to remain within the recommended safe level of exposure. With regard to injecting these vaccines into pregnant women, we know that some of the mercury will cross the placental barrier to the fetus. We tell pregnant women not to eat fish, and yet our government is not warning them about having mercury injected into their bodies while they are pregnant. In my opinion, this is inexcusable.

If you receive the swine flu vaccine this year, be sure to keep the card they give you, and make sure the card lists the manufacturer and lot number of the vaccine. But if you are injured by the vaccine, you will not be able to go to the no fault vaccine court that is available for other vaccine injuries. You will have to apply for compensation to a special program, from which there is no appeal and no right to pursue any kind of civil litigation. The industry demand for complete immunity is yet another reason to doubt government claims that mercury-containing vaccines are "safe." CDC admitted at a meeting of the National Vaccine Advisory Committee meeting on September 15 that none of the safety trials of the H1N1 vaccines would be completed on either pregnant women or infants prior to launch of these vaccines, yet they still "believe" them to be safe.

Dear fellow citizens!

I address you in performance of my constitutional duty under the Article 106 of the Basic Law of the state.

The reason is the emergency epidemic situation in the country.
Infections of viral origin, including the A/H1N1 flu, are rapidly spreading across Ukraine.

The emergency is evident in the scale of the epidemic: the speed and the geography of its spreading, rapid progress of the illness and the exceptional number of deaths.

People are dying. The epidemic is killing doctors. This is absolutely unprecedented and inconceivable in the XXI century.

All the limits have been exceeded - even those under the Constitution that determine my actions as the President.

Therefore I am motivated by the most important: the security of your life and your health.

Therefore I give clear and frank assessment of the situation. And you should know that.

We have special risk factors that aggravate the epidemic in Ukraine.

The conclusions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, my numerous consultations with national and international experts show that.

First. Unlike similar epidemics in other countries, three pathogens of viral infections came to Ukraine at the same time: two of them are seasonal flu and the third is the A/H1N1.

According to virologists, such a combination of infections due to mutation may produce a new, even more aggressive virus.

That's why I have addressed the United Nations with the request to conduct a virologic examination in Ukraine and to establish the appropriate laboratory in order to take timely preventive measures.

Second. The A/H1N1 virus is easily mutating. It has travelled across half of the globe before coming to Ukraine.

This means that the virus has become particularly pathogenic.

This means that medical aid must be urgently reinforced by emergency, critical care treatment.

The third risk factor. It is generally known that the only way to prevent any infection is vaccination.

Due to unprofessional and highly disorganized vaccination against measles and rubella in Ukraine the practice of vaccination is compromised in essence.

According to the estimates of the Minister of Health approximately 58% of citizens are vaccinated today in Ukraine with the effective level being 90% and higher.

People have stopped getting vaccinated against extremely dangerous infections: tuberculosis, diphtheria, etc.

This led to high risk of A/H1N1 infection spread, when the virus came to Ukraine and made impossible preventive vaccination against both strains of seasonal flu.

All this made general epidemic situation in Ukraine even more complicated.

As the President I ask you, dear fellow citizens, to reconsider your attitude to vaccination and do it if necessary, but only, I emphasize it - only after consultation with the doctor.

At the same time I instruct the Government and the Ministry of Health to immediately start preventive and promotional work in areas where there is no epidemic, targeting primarily the special risk groups.

I demand the Government to immediately cancel the existing order of registration of medical supplies, including vaccines.

Studying this issue by the National Security and Defense Council shown that this procedure has allowed various dealers to bring to Ukraine dubious medicines, which are not recognized by the WHO or other national institutions.

Under my direction the Security Service is investigating the issue.

The fourth factor. In reality it is the Reactor 4.

I mean the epidemic, rapid spread of viral infections in the west of the country. The Government, the leadership of the Parliament and the opposition were all aware of that already in early October.

The first and the most effective preventive measure is avoiding large gatherings of people.

Ignoring this principle, hundreds of thousands of people from different regions were brought to Kyiv; from both the areas struck by the epidemic, and those where there was no evidence of this epidemic.

This greatly increased the risk of infection.

I emphasize: it was a well-known thing. And it was ignored by the Chairman of the Parliament, by the opposition leader and, first of all, by the Prime Minister. And Chief Sanitary Inspector, together with his subordinates in the regions, including those in the city of Kiev ignored their professional duty.

This directly reminds of the May Day demonstration in Kiev, held shortly after the accident at Chernobyl NPP.

This is a display of criminal irresponsibility of politicians and complete indifference towards the people.

Let me cite one example. On October 20 the epidemic of flu was declared in Ternopil with schools and kindergartens closed for quarantine. "From October 21 secondary and primary schools are closed due to the growing rate of flu and ARD sickness”. This was the order of local authorities.

As of October 20 the rate of ARD in Ternopil was 172.9 cases per 10 thousand people with epidemiological threshold for the city being 160 patients per 10 thousand people. In other words - all services of the country responsible for monitoring the figure were informed and knew about the situation.

However, not a single Sanitary Inspector has banned either the movement of people, nor their gathering, including those in Kiev on October 24, when people have gathered at the central square.

I would like to remind you, my dear, that on October 24, 2009 10 deaths were known to have occurred in Ternopil region itself and 6 deaths were reported in Lviv region. And in 7 days after the abovementioned gathering Kyiv turned out in the situation, when the rate of sickness demanded the announcement of flu epidemic. This is the behavior of the great politicians. The neglect of elementary means of prevention of a disease in any country in the world, by any society. Because they must conduct a show, they have concerts, because they were paid for and 130 million have already been spent.

In that, dear Ukrainians, I see not only moral but also criminal liability.

I have addressed the Prosecutor General of Ukraine with the request to institute criminal charges of negligence committed by first of all the Chief Sanitary Inspector, Kyiv City Sanitarian and the officials, who, despite having daily information on the epidemic situation in the country, neglected it in pursuit of political dividends and ambition.

Now, the only principle of organizing preventive measures at the national scale should be as follows:

We treat the West and defend East, Center, North and South of Ukraine amain.

I now rely solely on the professionalism of our doctors. Today they are the true heroes of our nation.

I once again demand the Government to comply with the order the National Security and Defense Council to resolve the issue of wages for our doctors in this difficult period for the country.

The fifth factor.

Dear fellow citizens, the key threat that is aggravating the situation is chaos in the system of healthcare and protection of lives of people.

Today we must recognize that Ukraine does not have a single healthcare system. Prevention of any infection, including through vaccination, the localization and overcoming the consequences of epidemics is the responsibility of the State Sanitary-Epidemiological Service of Ukraine.

The Service is headed by the Chief Sanitary Inspector. He is appointed by the Prime Minister.

The current Constitution after alterations in 2004 makes the Government solely responsible for conducting state healthcare policy.

The practice of using the power, as evident today, is a failure.

To the executive power, which is not subordinate to the President, I have suggested the holistic healthcare reforms plan and a set of instructions and recommendations that would help create the optimal model of the system for years to come. My remarks were presented as the groundless interference in Government’s work and as the unfounded criticism.

Back in April of 2009 I addressed the Government with the request to establish a special interdepartmental commission on fighting the spread of flu viruses, to finance the establishment of Flu Center and to take all measures to protect the country against flu. That included providing adequate availability of medicines, facemasks and all other necessaries.

Partial implementation of the instructions has its consequences.

They were not ignoring me – they were ignoring the people, the citizens. It is clear why. Because Ukraine still has unfair system of healthcare - one is for the power, the other is for the people.

We must change the system. We must change the entire system of government in Ukraine.

But now, in this moment there is no time for waiting or remonstrance.
National Security and Defense Council should become the center of decision-making.

Failure to comply with its orders will immediately result in application to the law enforcement authorities.

I remind all the responsible persons and draw attention to all of my orders, made in Lviv four days ago. In three days the deadline for compliance with these orders expires.

With my decree I put Minister of Health and Chief Sanitary Inspector of Ukraine into the Council for National Security and Defense.

I am conscious of my responsibility.

I express deep condolences to the families and relatives of those who have died.

I express my deep appreciation to doctors, who are saving our people risking their own lives. I am moved by this sacrifice. Such a commitment means that the epidemic will be stopped.

I appeal to all of you, dear fellow citizens, to show solidarity, mutual support, and strictly adhere to all the safety regulations regarding protection of your health and lives.

For not a single moment you will be left alone by the state.

Beginning this fall, the vaccination is a condition of employment at Spectrum Health, where Rachel Denherder works a part-time respiratory therapist. She told 24 Hour News 8 she is opposed for religious reasons.

"I was raised a Christian," the Spectrum Helen DeVos Children's Hospital employee said. "And it was my belief that I feel like God created us in his image. He created our body and created our immunity."

The Kent County woman said she does not want to put anything into her body she considers to be "toxic." And she said she's speaking on behalf of other Spectrum employees who don't want to be forced to get the shot -- not all for religious reasons -- but cannot speak out for fear of losing their income.

It continually breaks my heart that people have to take a bullet to the head before they find out bullets can be deadly… and they wish they had listened when they were warned not to play with loaded guns. Until my dying breath I will never understand how adamantly people defend their right to inject themselves and their children with poisons — viruses and chemicals called “vaccines” — under the ruse that this slurry is harmless and will somehow keep them healthy.

I have a little person in my office who had 10 rounds of antibiotics and 17 vaccines by 20 months of age. Yes, now autistic. That should be assault with deadly weapons and the doctor should be in jail. Instead, the parents were kicked out of their pediatrician’s practice for refusing more vaccines and wanting to get their child well. With these annoying, non-compliant parents out of the way, that doctor can continue to do what vaccinators do: Inject toxic substances into children, ruining their health and the lives of the child’s family members.

Parents have had years to get informed; my books and DVDs have been available for years since 2002. Dozens of others have been trying to educate people for as long — or longer – than I have. Parents of vaccine-injured children have implored fellow parents to question vaccines and demand answers. More recently, very visible persons – Jenny McCarthy and Dierdre Imus – have warned about vaccines, begging and pleading with parents to stop — JUST STOP.

I get emails almost every day that say things like, “I got your DVD and your book…but I have a question: should I get a flu shot?” WHAT?@!>! My mouth drops to the desk and I have to find a way to nicely but firmly say, “No, you should not get the flu shot.”

That may seem harsh and pretty bold, but we are coming in to some very turbulent times. Soft language and hand holding is no longer in order. The stranglehold of fear, perpetrated by those in white coats and the medical bureaucrats in Washington DC who take their marching orders from pharma, continues. Funny how they can be the “experts” when it is obvious they don’t even understand – and probably don’t even read – their own medical literature.

Being in the business of waking people up to the hazards of vaccines certainly has its ups and downs, as many of you know. Today’s news was particularly discouraging. The woman bragging that she stood in line for FIVE hours to get an H1N1 shot. Schools vaccinating children without parental consent. Several more miscarriages reported after H1N1 vaccination. The strange outbreak in the Ukraine that the WHO has already declared to be an outbreak of “novel H1N1” — how can that be? And this proclamation will be used to REALLY terrify people into getting vaccinated.

Until my dying breath I will never understand how adamantly people defend their right to inject themselves and their children with poisons — viruses and chemicals called “vaccines” — under the ruse that this slurry is harmless and will somehow keep them healthy.

[H1N1] A "National Emergency?" No, a National Anxiety Attack:

I wrote this note in response to a post on "Peachhead2," a parents' bulletin board.

"With all due respect to Dr. Gordon's article and his opinion posted [on Peachhead2] I would love to hear [another] doctor's opinion about the H1N1. I talked to a neurologist last week and he mentioned to me the concern being young children and the possibility of being hooked up to a respirator."

It is exactly this kind of absurd, exaggerated rhetoric (not from our Peachheader, but from the doctor she's quoting) that is creating anxiety and fear and making it harder to make an informed intelligent decision.

The possibility of your healthy child "being hooked to a respirator" because of Swine Flu is incredibly small. To imply otherwise is an unintelligent scare tactic.

LONDON, Ontario, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Some Canadian women have levels of mercury -- most likely from fish -- high enough to damage the brain of a developing baby, researchers found.

A study conducted by researchers at the University of Western Ontario's Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry found between 20 percent to 30 percent of Canadian women of reproductive age had high enough levels of mercury that can cause congenital damage, the London (Ontario) Free Press reported Wednesday.

The study involved more than 100 women tested for mercury levels using hair samples. There was a strong correlation between the amount of fish consumed and the mercury levels in the body.

The university's Dr. Gideon Koren said although developing babies won't be hurt in many cases, the study is a concern because the women said they thought their fish consumption was within health guidelines.

Health Canada recommends women eat only two servings of fish a week.

Koren said this recommendation may be of little use because the mercury levels in fish can vary widely.

WASHINGTON — Civil liberties advocates caution that mandatory vaccinations, forced quarantines and restricted interstate travel would not only endanger individual rights but also would be unlikely to prevent disease in the event of a severe H1N1 outbreak. "These raise the highest constitutional problems," said Michael Greenberger, director of the Center for Health and Homeland Security at the University of Maryland, at a recent panel discussion.

Sharon Bradford Franklin, senior counsel at the Constitution Project, an advocacy organization for civil rights, said it's important to consider the "potential impact of individual rights" and the "legitimate scope of government power" in the event of a flu pandemic.

Last month, an order that would have required all New York State health workers to get the H1N1 vaccine created a public outcry. The mandate was rescinded after state officials said the vaccine was in short supply, but the issue of mandatory vaccination raises serious legal and constitutional issues.

"You can't force someone to get a vaccine you don't have," said Wendy Mariner, author and professor of health law at Boston University.

Mariner said that new laws imposing mandates in the event of a national emergency, such as a severe flu pandemic, are unnecessary and often create public backlash.

How deflating it must be, for conventional medicine and public health officials to feel the noose tightening around their unscientific balloon of unfounded vaccine principles. For whatever their reasons, nearly half the adults in the United States are saying they want nothing to do with the swine flu vaccine.

But two of three American adults told pollsters they were nevertheless concerned about the virus that has stuck 25,000 in this country and killed 114 children.

That’s according to a poll done by McClatchy Newspapers and published Tuesday.

And, the poll found, if people are skeptical about the vaccine, most aren’t blaming the Obama administration. Two out of three said they were confident that the administration had done everything in its power to make the vaccine available in time.

Mechanism of Action

"...antibody titers (after) vaccination with inactivated influenza H1N1 virus vaccine have not been correlated with protection from influenza illness. In some human studies, antibody titer of ≥1:40 have been associated with protection from influenza illness in up to 50% of subjects."

What this says, in plain language, is that having an H1N1 antibody after getting an H1N1 shot has no correlation with not getting sick. And that a sizable antibody titer (of 1:40 or greater) only protects UP TO 50% of people from getting the flu -- meaning that the vaccine is a 50:50 deal at best for keeping you from getting sick.

The CDC is recommending that all pregnant women be the "first in line" to get the swine flu shot this season. But is it necessary? Are they really at a greater risk than the general population?

The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the CDC has recommended that influenza vaccination be given to all women in the second or third trimester of pregnancy during the influenza season.

o Hospitalizations for respiratory illness were uncommon in both vaccinees and nonvaccinees.

o When asthma visits were excluded from the outcome measure, there was no difference in the risk of outpatient visits for vaccinated and unvaccinated women.

o Hospital admissions for influenza or pneumonia for women in the study population were quite rare and no women died of respiratory illness during pregnancy.

o Infants born to women who received influenza vaccination had the same risks for influenza or pneumonia admissions compared with infants born to unvaccinated women.

o Influenza vaccination during pregnancy did not significantly affect the risk of cesarean section. It did not affect the risk of preterm delivery.

Bottom line: Vaccines made NO difference outcomes to the mom or the baby in either the vaccinated vs unvaccinated population. NOTHING has changed since then to change this data.

(NaturalNews) The US government has issued a new report that recommends blocking access to popular websites during a pandemic outbreak in order to preserve internet bandwidth for investors, day traders and securities clearing house operations. The concern is that a pandemic would cause too many people to stay at home and download YouTube videos and porn, hogging all the internet bandwidth and blocking throughput for investment activities, thereby causing a stock market meltdown.

This isn't an April Fool's joke. It's all based on a public report issued by the Government Accounting Office (GAO), available from their website at http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d108.pdf

In this article, I'm going to explain how a pandemic outbreak could theoretically bring down Wall Street. But to get to that, you'll first need to find out what the GAO said in its curious report (see below). Parts of this article are presented as satire, but the underlying facts quoted here are all true and verifiable (links are provided to all sources).

This report in question is entitled, "GAO Report to Congressional Requesters, INFLUENZA PANDEMIC" and includes this subtitle: Key Securities Market Participants Are Making Progress, but Agencies Could Do More to Address Potential Internet Congestion and Encourage Readiness.

As the report explains:

In a severe pandemic, governments may close schools, shut down public transportation systems, and ban public gatherings such as concerts or sporting events. In such scenarios, many more people than usual may be at home during the day, and Internet use in residential neighborhoods could increase significantly as a result of people seeking news, entertainment, or social contact from home computers. Concerns have been raised that this additional traffic could lead to congestion on the Internet that would significantly affect businesses in local neighborhoods, such as small doctors' offices or business employees attempting to telework by connecting to their employers' enterprise networks.

Critics are calling it a two-tier health system — one for the politically well connected, another for the hoi polloi. As Germany launched its mass-vaccination program against the H1N1 flu virus on Monday, the government found itself fending off accusations of favoritism because it was offering one vaccine believed to have fewer side effects to civil servants, politicians and soldiers, and another, potentially riskier vaccine to everyone else. The government had hoped that Germans would rush to health clinics to receive vaccinations against the rapidly spreading disease, but now rising anger over the different drugs may cause many people to shy away.

Amid growing fears of a possible global flu pandemic, the German government prepared for its mass-vaccination campaign earlier this year by ordering 50 million doses of the Pandemrix vaccine, enough for a double dose for 25 million people, about a third of the population. The vaccine, manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline, contains an immunity-enhancing chemical compound, known as an adjuvant, whose side effects are not yet entirely known. Then, after a report was leaked to the German media last week, the Interior Ministry confirmed that it had ordered a different vaccine, Celvapan, for government officials and the military. Celvapan, which is made by U.S. pharmaceutical giant Baxter, does not contain an adjuvant and is believed to have fewer side effects than Pandemrix.

Science dictates that only a randomized double-blind, placebo-controlled study can generate unbiased results in any clinical trial. In the history of vaccine development, no such study has ever been performed. It is only unscientific opinions and pharmaceutical propaganda which have propelled the mythological validity, safety and effectiveness of vaccines. Dozens of controlled studies have scientifically verified the immunotoxicty, neurotoxicity and sterility of common vaccine ingredients which destroy human health, yet they are all ignored by conventional medicine.

Some of you may have noticed the H1N1 debate has begun heating up again. I certainly have because it is an issue that I have become very passionate about in recent months. You see, I am a healthcare worker. A nurse, to be specific. I work at a Chattanooga hospital and generally like my job. I received the regular flu vaccine this year, not because I wanted it, but to protect my patients a little better. I refused the H1N1 vaccination at that time. I feel it is unsafe, and I am 100% certain it has not been developed with all due care.

The hospital that I work for at first attempted to make it no big deal, get the vaccine or not. Its up to you. Almost no one took it. Then they tried 'meetings' to educate us poor healthcare workers who obviously didn't get the message the first time around. People still wouldn't take it.

The developers of this vaccine and members of the federal government have been granted immunity from any lawsuits or claims that may result. That's right, immunity. If something goes wrong and you find yourself paralyzed, suffering from some bizarre neurological disorder or with unrelenting pain as a direct result of this vaccination, you will have zero recourse. They will be protected from having to provide you with adequate healthcare, disability, and financial compensation for your losses. It's a get out of jail free card for them.

Here's the scary part. I am soon to be forced to receive this vaccination. That's right. If I don't consent to receive this vaccine, I will lose my job. I will no longer be allowed to practice as a nurse. They are done with their thinly veiled attempts to lovingly distribute the vaccine and have moved onto a take it or get out motto. Now, is that really a choice? The truth is, this vaccine might turn out to be harmless. It also could potentially cause cancer as the old polio vaccine is now known to have done. It could cause Guillain-barre syndrome as is listed right on the box that contains the vaccine as a potential side effect. In 1976, 4,000 people developed that very syndrome. It causes paralysis and sometimes leads to death. The fact that 46 million people received the vaccine and only 4,000 had serious adverse effects doesn't impress me much. That's still 4,000 people too many.

Also, ask yourself what's in the vaccine. Some of these vaccines are being prepared with the preservative Thimerosal. It has been linked to autism and brain damage.

If someone wants this vaccine, great. Its a personal choice. That choice has been taken from me, and my civil liberties are being violated. What's the next step? The government will soon come after the school age children and onward. You will find it a requirement to attend school and so forth.

I have made my decision. I will not be forced into submission. It is my body, and I have the right to refuse a vaccine without the threat of loss of income. However, if I have to choose between loss of income and a hospital/government trying to bully me, I will gladly hang up my stethoscope and go to law school.

Open your eyes. Today it's me; tomorrow it could be you.

A severe outbreak of the H1N1 pandemic could overwhelm internet providers' capacity, according to a report submitted Monday, which called on Department of Homeland Security officials to develop contingency plans to avert such a crisis.

"Concerns exist that a more severe pandemic outbreak than 2009's could cause large numbers of people staying home to increase their internet use and overwhelm internet providers' network capacities," according to the report, which was prepared by the US Government Accountability Office.

It went on to warn that the congestion might be so acute that stock brokers and other securities market employees would be unable to telework from home. The authors said the DHS, which is responsible for making sure critical networks remain operational during emergencies, needs to consider ways to mitigate the threat and held out the rationing of customer bandwidth or the blocking of websites as possibilities.

Massachusetts health officials have decided to give swine flu vaccinations to prisoners with high health risks before the general population. Prison officials warn that inmates could quickly spread the flu if not inoculated -- particularly those in high-risk groups, such as AIDS patients or the aged. Department of Public Health spokeswoman Jennifer Manley told the Boston Herald that vaccines will go to correctional facilities the second week of November for prison health care workers and high risk prisoners.

AUSTIN, Texas — Texas prison officials say thousands of high-risk convicts may be vaccinated against the swine flu ahead of the general public as soon as next week.

Texas Department of Criminal Justice spokeswoman Michelle Lyons and state health officials say more than 45,000 convicts are being considered for the vaccine. They've been targeted by a U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention distribution policy to receive the vaccine.

Texas is the second state to announce it would vaccinate prisoners before vaccinating the general public. Earlier this month, Massachusetts announced it would do the same.

Researchers Believe Cervical Cancer Vaccine Could Be Linked to Cases of Lou Gehrig’s Disease

Oct. 16, 2009 (Baltimore) — Researchers believe that there may be a link between a vaccine against cervical cancer and a rapidly progressive, fatal disease in two young women.

Both the timing of the symptoms and autopsy results “suggest a link between” the Gardasil vaccine and the fatal cases of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, says Catherine Lomen-Hoerth, MD, director of the ALS Center at University of California San Francisco Medical Center.

With only two confirmed cases, “we don’t know for sure if it’s coincidence or if they’re connected [to the vaccine],” she tells WebMD. “We hope that by raising awareness, we will become aware of any other cases.”

Pam Eisele, a spokeswoman for Merck & Co., which makes the vaccine, says the company cannot comment specifically on the cases as it has not seen the data.

“However, after carefully reviewing all the information available to us about reported adverse events, including reports of deaths, Merck does not believe these events have been caused by Gardasil,” she says.

Lucas County revises forms because of case

Knowing her 7-year-old has had adverse reactions to medication in the past, Kim Lutheran thought she had made it clear she didn't want her son vaccinated for the swine flu.

She signed the "no-consent" portion of the form Oregon City Schools sent home, then circled it with a black marker for emphasis.

To her shock, her first-grader was given the shot when the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department set up a flu clinic Monday at Starr Elementary. When she found out later that day, she said she was livid, not to mention worried for her son Matthew's health.

"It wasn't just that we didn't want the vaccination. It was we didn't want the vaccination because," Mrs. Lutheran, a registered nurse, said. "The health department has to be held accountable for violating my parental rights to say no. They did not have parental consent. They had 'do not give consent.'•"

The error has prompted the health department to revise the consent forms used for the in-school clinics planned across Lucas County, Larry Vasko, deputy health commissioner, said.

"We really thought we had things in place that something like that would not happen, and it did," Mr. Vasko said. "Very fortunately - and we're most interested in the child's welfare - the child is apparently fine or in pretty good shape. We certainly have taken steps so that this sort of thing will not happen again."

Consent forms sent home with Maumee City Schools students this week - the next district where flu clinics are to be held - ask only for parents to sign the form if they want their children vaccinated. Those who do not give their consent should not return the forms, and their children will not be vaccinated, Mr. Vasko said.

The New York Times has produced a detailed lesson plan for students in grades 6-12 that pushes the H1N1 flu vaccine and sets about debunking what the editors describe as “myths” surrounding the swine flu shot.

The material originates from the Times’ Learning Network feature, an educational resource for teachers and parents that works the Times’ coverage of current events into daily lesson plans for young students.

The writers of the material are New York Times employees that have backgrounds in education. The material itself is recommended for use in schools and is required to meet with McREL standards.

As an introduction to the piece, a video presents a Times reporter walking the streets of new york in a full bio suit, gloves, goggles and mask asking people their opinions on swine flu. The video seems mostly pointless other than to make the reporter’s activity seem like a complete overreaction. It briefly introduces the vaccine in a positive light, and later on in the lesson plan, teachers are asked to remind students of this.

The lesson plan then states:

Have students return to their journals to add their thoughts on her final words. Invite students to share their journal writings, and then move the discussion to the vaccine. Ask: Do you plan to get the newly released H1N1 vaccine? Why or why not? What have you heard about it? Are you confused about it at all? What fears and questions, if any, do you have about the vaccine?

The plan then introduces a handout entitled H1N1 Vaccine: Facts or Myths? (PDF Link) and instructs the teacher or parent to conceal from the students the fact that all nine points on the list are “myths”.

As we will discover, none of the points are “myths” at all, and the New York Times is engaging in debunking entirely legitimate information.
