Swine flu prompts order: Stay home when sick:

Swine flu fears may lead to new rules at the office -- in fact, employees who show up sick could actually be fired.

Pima County is at the forefront with new rules.

Patti Woodcock with the Pima County Health Department said the county has waived all kinds of sick-leave regulations. Employees who come to work sick will be ordered to go home. If they refuse, they face penalties "up to and including termination."

The message, Woodcock said, is, "Look, I know you're sick. Go home, stay home. You can use sick time and vacation time. Your job is secure, you don't need to worry and your pay check is intact."

Workers can take time off even if they do not have time accrued.
